The attention of the corps marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps has been drawn to a viral video circulating in the social media whereby a marshal was seen on a bonnet of a vehicle whose driver was avoiding arrest having been arrested by the team for committing the offence of
seatbelt use violation.

The incident occurred on Monday July 6,2020 on a joint patrol operations targeted at enforcing the presidential task force directives on physical distancing and overloading amongst passengers to avoid further spread of the Coronavirus.
The corps marshals of FRSC is deeply saddened by the development and has ordered for the investigation of the incident. Both the FRSC patrol team and the driver involved. And the driver is to face immediate prosecution in a court of competent jurisdiction.
He urged his staff to be safety conscious while discharging their official duties. And in line with their training and operational guidelines and not to unnecessary put their own lives in danger while attempting to arrest a fleeing offender. He further warned drivers to avoid putting the lives of the law enforcement agents at risk.
