At about 3:50pm yesterday 4th November, 2021 little that this Mark tanker driver knew he will not returned safely from that journey.
The fatal crash occurred along Onitsha - Owerri expressway at the entrance of Federal Road Safety Office
Ihiala, Anambra state.
According to an eye witness, the tanker driver turned the vehicle into the bush as a result of brake failure and jumped out of the moving vehicle but unfortunately for him, was crushed by that same vehicle.
The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi confirmed the incident and he attributed the cause of the crash to brake failure.
He also sympathises with the family of the driver that lost his life while encourage vehicle owners to ensure regular maintenance and put their vehicle in good shape to reduce such occurence. He said, one of the male adults(driver) involved in the crash lost his life while the motor boy came out unhurt.
According to him, the victim was rushed to Our Lady’s hospital Ihialla and was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. His corpse was deposited at the hospital morgue by FRSC rescue team.
