The users of petroleum motor spirit also known as petrol especially motorists have been told not to engage in panic buying of the product says The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)

Garbage Muhammed, Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, NNPC, in Sbuja made it known that the NNPC had over 1.7 billion litres of petrol. The NNPC said it was also not aware of any plan by government to cause an increase in the pump price of petroleum.
“The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has made that declaration last week. The NNPC is also not aware of any plan by government to cause an increase in the pump price of petroleum
Consequently, he said that the NNPC therefore is advising every motorists and general consumers of petroleum motor spirit (petrol) to maintain their usual pattern of the purchase on PMS without getting into a panic situation that may send the wrong signals around the country.
He also assured users of the product that the NNPC is also engaging all stakeholders to ensure smooth supply and distribution of products to all parts of the country during the festive seasons and beyond
