A fatal crash has occurred involving a commercial Nissan bus and a truck at Okeohia Ihiala, along Ihiala - Owerri expressway of Anambra state were the bus driver list his life.
The crash occurred Sunday 7th Novembe, 2021. As reported by an eyewitness, the bus driver conveying illegal crude oil was on top speed when he suddenly rammed into a stationed trailer.
The trailer driver drove off immediately upon seeing what has happened making it difficult for the trailer details to be captured.
Confirming the incident, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi said one person died in the crash, attributing the crash to excessive speed.
He sympathized with the deceased family, urging motorist to maintain safe speed limit and avoid excessive speeding
According to him, “A fatal Road traffic crash happened at Okeohia in Ihiala along Ihiala - Owerri express way today 7th November, 2021 at about 15:06hrs.
The crash was between two vehicles, a commercial bus with Regitration No: NKK-314-VT and articulated vehicle no registration number
“The probable cause of the fatal crash was attributed to Excessive Speed which led to loss of Control.
“Five persons were involved in the crash, comprising four male adult, and one female adult.
“The corpse was taken to Our Lady’s Mortuary Ihialla after being confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. Efforts is being made by FRSC rescue team and Police men from Ihialla Police Division to tow the accidented Nissan bus off the road.
